  • Root Canal Treatment | Sapphire Dental

Root Canal Treatments Book a Consultation Root canal treatment (endodontics) is used to treat infection at the centre of a tooth, often saving a tooth that might otherwise need to be removed. Teeth are living parts of the body. They comprise of a hard outer covering of enamel, a softer material under this called dentine and a nerve and blood supply to the tooth. This nerve can become inflamed resulting in sensitivity, toothache and/or a dental abscess. Root canal treatment is required when the damage to the nerve is irreversible. It is necessary to clean out the space where the nerve lies and to seal that space to prevent further infection or inflammation. Commonly the nerve is damaged due to trauma (a blow), tooth decay, gum disease, tooth wear or abrasion/erosion. How we perform root canal treatment Before having root canal treatment, you’ll usually be given a local anaesthetic to make the procedure more comfortable. Root canal treatment can take a number of visits depending on how complex the shape of the nerve canal system is or how soon the infection settles. Treatment is usually carried out under a dental rubber dam to protect the tooth from bacterial recolonisation from the saliva. There are several techniques used to clean and shape root canals, which involve using fine metal instruments called files. After the bacteria have been removed, the root canal is filled and the tooth sealed with a filling or crown; your dentist will determine the best option for your tooth. Back to Treatments

  • Cosmetic Dentistry | Sapphire Dental

Cosmetic Dentistry We offer a range of cosmetic dental treatments such as teeth whitening to restore confidence in your smile. Our dentists will listen to any concerns you have about your teeth. They will assess and discuss a range of cosmetic dental treatments that will improve your teeth and restore confidence in your smile. Professional Zoom teeth whitening. Your dentist will take impressions of your teeth to create bespoke mouth trays that will fit over your teeth precisely. You will be given Zoom whitening gel that you apply to the trays and wear them in place until you are happy with their lighter shade. We offer day whitening (where you apply the gel and wear your trays for 2–4 hours each day) and night whitening (where you apply the gel and wear your trays overnight); your dentist will check your preference and provide the appropriate gel for you. White fillings. If your teeth have decay and need restoring, we use hard-wearing white filling material that will bond to your teeth and protect them. Cosmetic bonding. Cosmetic bonding material can be colour-matched to your teeth and used to smooth worn or chipped edges, to fill small gaps or to reshape uneven teeth and improve symmetry. Teeth and gum reshaping. Teeth can be gently reshaped to even up your smile. Gums can be too high or low, affecting your appearance; this can be improved with gum contouring and reshaping. Crowns. Crowns can be used to restore decayed or heavily filled teeth, protect a tooth after root canal treatment, or anchor a bridge or denture firmly in place. Your crown will be made to match the colour and shape of your natural teeth, and will offer strength and protection. Veneers. Veneers are made of thin porcelain to cover the front of one or many of your teeth to improve their appearance. They can conceal chips, uneven teeth, stained teeth or gaps. Replace missing teeth. We offer dental implants, bridges or dentures to replace one or many missing teeth. Dental implants act like ‘titanium roots’ to securely hold your cosmetic crown, bridge or denture in place. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns to secure a false tooth or teeth in between. Dentures can be made to look natural and fit securely in place. Enquire Now Back to Treatments

Our clinicians have a patient-centred ethos, where we will listen to any concerns, perform a thorough assessment and help guide you towards stable dental health and a smile you can have confidence in. We recommend seeing your dentist regularly to achieve ‘preventive’ dental health, where any problems are identified early to enable timely treatment. At your first, new patient check-up, your dentist will take x-ray pictures and perform a thorough dental examination. In fact, we often get very grateful parents for the way we approach children’s dentistry! We enjoy looking after children’s teeth, and offer treatments such as fissure sealants and duraphat varnish application for their preventive care. If treatment is needed, your dentist will discuss with you all options and costs involved, so you will have no financial surprises. We love to hear our patients comments about their positive experiences with us. Mr J.D Very pleased with the service, would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and dentists who were very calm and supportive, to my daughter who had an accident with her braces Ms C.S Highly recommend. The dentists are attentive and caring. The hygienist was amazing, talked throughout explaining what she was doing and gave me some great tips. Mr D.C '' For your records my treatment at the hands of Dr Nisha Sanghrajka has been exemplary throughout and she is a great asset to the clinic in my opinion. '' Mr J.C Helpful and caring staff have helped me fix my teeth better than expected. Will be recommending to friends and family. '' Mrs L.A I have been a client for 10+ years and would highly recommend your care, friendliness and excellent standards. I have told family and friends about the high level of service I personally have received, (from emergency to routine), ALWAYS the same quality provided. First experience of your hygienist last week and she too was excellent. From my perspective, I don’t know why people still say they are “scared” of the dentist any more. Perhaps they have not tried Sapphire yet? Miss A.S HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I have finally found a dentist I will be returning to. I couldn’t have been happier with the service given. All of the doctors are amazing. The reception staff are amazing. I could not fault anything and will definitely be back to complete my treatments. I couldn’t recommend Sapphire Dental more and would advise anyone who is looking for a new dentist to come here. Mr T.H I am a new patient to Sapphire Dental and recently had to have a filling here. I have never been so well informed and looked after at a Dental surgery in my life, with the wonderful & professional care I was given by Pratima and Nisha. Everyone is very friendly and it helped me relax alot.On another, smaller note, the location could not be much easier to locate, what with being in the Sainsburys store. Highly recommended Mrs A.T I have been with Sapphire Dental since it opened and have always been happy being treated by Dr Manoj Tank who has a gentle manner and is professional and thorough. All staff I have dealt with are also friendly, helpful and considerate. I am very happy to recommend. My next appointment is booked already Mr A.H '' Dr Tank has been my dentist since I moved into the area 7 years ago. I am 88 years old and I have had quite a few dentists, but not one has been better than Dr Tank. At my age my teeth are not in a very good condition, but he has kept them going, and carried out some rebuilding of my teeth that I would not have thought possible. Not only does Dr Tank carry out dentistry with utmost care, he also explains things with great clarity. I can thoroughly recommend Dr Tank. I was originally attracted to the surgery because the premises and equipment were new and impressive. Also being on the ground floor with excellent free parking was a real bonus. '' Mr P.A '' I want to put on record how happy I was and am regarding the dental treatment you provided me, which included operations and stitching in my gums. You always treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy. You are very kind, caring and highly likeable doctor. You always put me at ease before and during the procedures. I had no problems whatsoever about the procedures you carried out and everything always went satisfactorily. You are without doubt a competent dental surgeon and a calm and wonderful person. You are clearly an invaluable asset to your profession and the patients that you treat and will treat. I was fortunate to have met you and receive the treatment at your hands. '' Mrs I.F-C Staff are welcoming, informative & extremely helpful. Only had check up so far and dentist was relaxing, reassuring & thorough. My treatment is planned out and I would thoroughly recommend Sapphire Dental. Mr G.G Lovely, kind and understanding receptionists.
